The Daily Play is built by Nick Giannini for Ryan McAneney, who uses the app daily. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how you can control it.
1. Information We Collect
- Your Google account name and email if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Your Apple account name and email if you choose to sign in with Apple. (Apple only shares your name on your first sign-in. We cache that name on your device so we have something to display on later sessions; if you'd rather appear as something else, you can sign out and back in as a guest with a custom display name.)
- Your display name if you play as a guest. Guest names are stored only on the device you typed them on.
- Your quiz scores and answers — which questions you answered, what you typed, and how you scored.
- Your HR Call predictions and results — the player you picked, the game's gamePk and date, whether they homered, and when we checked.
We don't collect device IDs, advertising identifiers, location, contacts, photos, microphone, or any other system-level data.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To save and display your quiz history across sessions.
- To track your HR Call predictions and resolve their results.
- To display your name and HR Call record on the public leaderboard. (The leaderboard shows your display name, your number of correct picks, and your hit-rate percentage. It does not show your email or any other identifier.)
- We never sell your data.
- We never use your data for advertising — there are no ads in this app.
3. Data Storage
- Signed-in user data (quiz scores, HR Call picks and results, display name) is stored in a secure cloud database hosted by Supabase, with row-level security so each user can only read and write their own records.
- Guest users: all data is stored locally on your device only. It never leaves the device and we have no way to see it.
- Authentication tokens (when you sign in with Google or Apple) are stored in your browser's localStorage by Supabase's auth client and refreshed automatically. They're scoped to this app's origin and not shared with third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
The app uses these services to function:
- Supabase — database hosting and authentication. See the Supabase privacy policy.
- Google Sign In — optional authentication. See the Google privacy policy.
- Apple Sign In — optional authentication. See the Apple privacy policy. Apple Sign In supports the "Hide My Email" relay option, which we honor — if you choose it, we only ever see the relay address.
- Anthropic Claude API — generates the AI narration and quiz questions for each game. We send the game's public box-score data to Claude; we do not send any of your personal information. See the Anthropic privacy policy.
- MLB Stats API — public game data (lineups, schedules, box scores). The app reads from this API; we do not send any of your information to it.
5. Data Deletion
- Signed-in users can delete their account and all associated data (quiz history, HR Calls, leaderboard presence) by contacting us using the email below. We'll confirm and remove your records, typically within 7 days.
- Guest users can clear all their data immediately by clearing this site's storage in their browser settings, or by deleting and reinstalling the app from the home screen.
6. Children's Privacy
The Daily Play is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Significant changes will be announced inside the app and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
